At Luminaries Play, we believe weekends should be more than just childcare — they should be a chance for children to explore, create, and discover who they are. Our weekend club is designed for ages 4–11, offering a safe, welcoming space where fun meets learning. From STEM projects and cooking to sports, debates, and creative showcases, we give children the tools to grow in confidence, build friendships, and develop real-world skills that will light their path into the future.

Our Story

Luminaries Play was born from a simple idea: weekends should be more than just free time — they should be opportunities for children to shine. Founded by a mother and childcare leader passionate about creating safe, inspiring spaces for children, we saw a growing need for families who work unconventional hours or want their children to benefit from purposeful weekend activities. With a focus on fun, learning, and life skills, Little Luminaries Play bridges the gap between childcare and enrichment, helping every child grow in confidence, creativity, and curiosity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible weekend childcare that empowers children to learn, create, and thrive. We aim to support families by offering flexible weekend sessions that combine structured activities with freedom to explore. By weaving together STEM, arts, cooking, debates, sports, and financial literacy, we prepare children not only for school, but for life.

Our Values

At Luminaries Play, everything we do is guided by values that ensure every child is safe, seen, and celebrated.

01

Inclusion, Respect & Belonging

Every child is valued for who they are, and we celebrate diversity in all forms. Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and respected. We celebrate diversity in all its forms and create an environment where every child can participate fully, regardless of background, ability, or need. Our inclusive practices ensure that no child feels left out and that parents feel confident their child belongs here.

02

Curiosity & Lifelong Learning

Children are natural explorers. We nurture their curiosity by offering experiences that spark questions, creativity, and problem-solving. From STEM challenges to language learning, we aim to develop a love of discovery that stays with them well beyond childhood.

03

Safety & Wellbeing

The wellbeing of every child is at the heart of what we do. With Ofsted-registered staff, enhanced DBS checks, and a strong safeguarding culture, we ensure children are cared for in a safe, secure, and positive environment. We also encourage emotional check-ins and wellbeing activities so children learn to manage and express their feelings.

04

Community & Connection

We see Little Luminaries Play as an extension of the community. Our programmes foster friendships, teamwork, and respect for others. By involving parents in events like project showcases and performances, we strengthen the bond between families and the club.

05

Confidence & Future Skills

We are committed to helping children build skills that will serve them for life — from financial literacy in our tuck shop project to leadership in debates and performances. By giving children opportunities to take ownership, solve problems, and celebrate achievements, we help them grow in confidence and prepare for the future.
